Response of the brand
Hello Nikki

Thank you for taking time in order to let us know your feedback on First Fish 400 Fishing rod.
I am sorry to learn about your experience with the product and I would encourage you to continue practicing the niche sport of Fishing/ Angling.
In order to enable you to do that, you may visit any Decathlon store and exchange your broken fishing rod.
The phone number used at the time of billing will be sufficient to retrieve your purchase details.

However, I would like to you to be aware of the appropriate usage of this fishing rod so that a similar situation does not arise in the future!
Unfortunately broken tip of a fishing rod is a common issue risen by many first time users of any fishing rod, especially telescopic ones.
When the fish strikes, it applies enormous force in the opposite direction to unhook itself, especially predator fishes.
At this time if the fishing rod is pulled sharply to take the fish out of the water, the tip of the rod might break.
We suggest you take time to pull your strike and use a keeping net half submerged in water to save the fish!

We at Decathlon, practice and preach the motto of 'Catch and release' in order to maintain the harmony of our ecosystem.
None of our fishing equipment are meant for commercial fishing, but, are meant for angling as a sport practice.

Thank You
Taniya Dutta
