How to adjust your walking poles?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust them: Unscrew the middle strand, underneath the ring of the lower strand, locate the size of the desired stick (in centimetres), and screw back firmly but do not overtighten, repeat with the lower section. NEVER GO OVER THE "STOP LINE", or the pole may break during use.

User tips
Before leaving: Always check that your sticks are tight. During descents, or during strong pushes in the mountains, for example, you can adjust the sticks to make them longer. When walking downhill, it's best to remove the strap so the pole won't get in your way if you fall.

Test
Our field testers: all our poles are tested in use, by users who are representative of those for whom the products are designed, under conditions similar to those that you can find in use. Our Field Test Missions team up our product managers with people not affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and validate our products.

Product test
Laboratory bending and compression tests are carried out on the unfolded stick to ensure its effectiveness and resistance if the hiker has to heavily rely on it. Tests are also carried out to assess how the tightening systems cope with pulling, tightening and repeated stress, and pull tests on the tips and handles simulate poles getting stuck when in use.

Stockage tips
Store the poles in a dry place, do not tighten the sections.

Maintenance tips
If the pole gets wet, wipe it with a cloth or let it air dry, otherwise, it will rust and become difficult to open or close. Do not use lubricants.

Walking pole
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Excellent product
Impossible to UNLOCK without pliers
Used for 7 to 12 months
Not overtightened, but sometimes I can’t adjust until I unlock it at home
Good value
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Bought for light trail walks - easily adjustable length however straps took a bit of work to get right. Also bought ferrules but found these weren't needed for grass & trails/riverside walking.
Comfortable handhold for short walks (3-4 miles).
Missing 4 springs
Used for 1 week or less
Dear Srs.,

I bought a hicking pole model Forclaz 500 in Decathlon but the pole is not possible to assemble. None of the springs came inside of the product so I can't lock it.
Could you please send me by post 4 springs? I tried to contact you by email but the system showed an "error" message.

Thank you,

Maura
Great value

Good quality product, at great value. Highly recommended.
Strong, lightweight

Did the job!
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I used these poles when trekking 100 km in 5 days across Spain. They were great on the uneven paths, saw me through some muddy patches. Great for travelling because they fitting inside my pack for when it went into the hold on the aircraft. I would recommend buying the rubber tips because I find the tap tap noise on concrete or tarmac annoying and sometimes lost grip on these sections of road / trail.
Light weight pole, sturdy and practical.
Rubber tips are an extra purchase
Lightweight, straightforward, good colour
Used for 1 week or less
Not for really tall people, as most of weight reduction seems to be in shortening the pole a bit. This is handy though as you can strap it to your bag without worrying about snagging the strap on branches. I didn't get anything to cover the metal tips, which is frustrating, it should come as standard, not as an accessory that can be out of stock.
Easy to adjust strap, fold away small, buy singly
Quite short
Light Pole in Austria
I bought this as a spare pole which I could pack in my suitcase when travelling. I used it most recently while walking in the Austrian Alps and it was an extremely useful piece of equipment particularly on some of the more difficult walks.
Functional, compact, light and comfortable to hold
nothing
Good value for money
Having used this product on around 10 mountain walks in snow, bog, rock and river crossings and they have worked as well as well known more expensive walking poles and at 90% of the quality and 50% of the price i would recommend them
Light weight and strong aluminium
The plastic baskets are a bit flimsy
Non reliable locking mechanism
These poles are not reliable for mountaineering. Even if they are quite light, the locking mechanism fails to lock when you need them. I will never use them for mountaineering or any winter activity. They fail when you need them the most.
relatively light, possibillity to buy one piece on
locking mechanism fails to lock randonly
Response of the brand
Good afternoon,First thanks for your feedback on that product. I have forwarded your email to our product manager and according to her it is not normal that the locking system does not work properly. She thinks it is more a faulty thing with the one you bought. She would like to have more details about how it happened. I will let you answer to her: marieeve.meynet(at)quechua.comOtherwise you can also return the product to your local store, exchange it or claim your money back.Kind regards,Fabien BELFILS UK Mountain Sports Market Manager
