Technical Information

1
waterproofing of the garment
This garment passed a 60L/sqm/h shower test lasting 1h. This test replicates the average conditions of a rain shower. This jacket's fabric is water repellent: this is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. As a result, the fabric does not soak up the water and remains lightweight and breathable. The water-repellent effect is achieved by treating the outer surface of the fabric. What's more, the main seams that are most exposed to the rain are taped.
2
How to maintain the waterproofing of your jacket over the long term
In order to retain the item’s sustained, long-term waterproof properties, the water repellency of the fabric will need to be reactivated: we recommend that this is done every 3 washes or after wearing a dozen times in the rain. When washing, abundant rinsing is essential, then reactivating the water repellent properties can easily be done in hot water: in a tumble dryer or with a hairdryer for a relatively short period. You will find all our advice in the instructions of this product data sheet.

Additional recommended products
Raincut over-trousers for protecting the lower body as well, so that you can have a complete outfit that offers highly effective protection against wind and showers.
4
Waterproof rating expressed in mm or Schmerber
We measure the resistance of a fabric to water pressure expressed in mm of water column (test based on Standard ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more the fabric is waterproof. A component with a 2000 mm waterproof rating can therefore withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm column of water
5
Component breathability
To assess the breathability of the fabric, the evaporative resistance, RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard), is measured. The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity is evaporated, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 9
6
A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. A score ranging from A to E is attributed so that you can easily identify the products with a better environmental performance compared to products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks,...). Decathlon totally backs the environmental labelling approach. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

Nice and light, packs up small, not too hot like others I have bought.
Great for the price
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I wanted a cheap waterproof jacket for when I go mountain biking. I got soaked a month back whilst riding Downhill. I bought a cheap jacket so if I crash and it rips it's cheap enough to replace. The zip sometimes catches when zipping up, but that's nothing. 100% recommend this jacket to anybody.
Cheap
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Zip constantly catches and the cord adjustment on the bottom of the jacket to tighten it has broken after only 1 week use. Terrible build quality.

Great Jacket for the price
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I actually bought this jacket because I can roll it up & put it in my bag when we go mountain biking, because it keeps the wind & rain out.
Tried it out in the wind this weekend riding in North Wales.
Did the job quite nicely.
Hiking Rain Jacket

I am a guide of Holocaust / Shoah sites travelling to the Baltic (from Israel). I travel very light and this product is a Godsend. Ideal for my needs. Has already provided protection in inclement weather. Brilliant.

excellent quality
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Climbed Mt Fuji on last week and while I expected some light rain, I ended being caught in a typhoon, over 4h under the heavy rain and wind and amazingly only the first layer under the jacket was wet. I must say I'm impressed !
Excellent waterproof jacket
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
The material is really good to last you nearly 6 months. Only for hiking and not recommended for extreme weather.
